Valex of Blackpool Postcards

I've always been interested in music and collected records and then CD. Along the way I've had my fair share of memorabilia, from posters to playing cards, badges to t-shirts.

I recently picked up a collection of 1960's Postcards from eBay. Being relatively unaware of the fad for collecting Postcards and Promo Cards in the 60's, I was pleasantly surprised by what turned up in the padded envelope!

The parcel contained a selection of (rather worn) postcards and promo cards from among others; The Beatles, Elvis, The Animals, Herman's Hermits. They've obviously be pinned on some teenagers wall for years and form a fantastic snapshot of part of 60's pop culture.

From what I can gather some of these cards are manufactured by photographers who would invite touring Artists to sit for a portrait whilst in town. Others are promo cards produced by the Record Label to promote the Artist's latest release.
